Main ContentEarly Entry Pathways
Early entry pathways at the University of Mississippi School of Nursing allow eligible students to reserve a spot in a competitive program - either the Traditional BSN program, the RN-MSN program or the DNP program - without the stress of competing against hundreds of applicants.
These early entry routes provide a seamless transition from high school, an associate-degree program or a master's program to higher education.
- Freshman Early Entry - The School of Nursing Freshman Early Entry pathway provides an entry into the Traditional BSN program as a college freshman rather than a junior.
- RN-BSN Early Entry - The RN-BSN Early Entry pathway provides ADN students early entry into the RN-BSN program from 13 partnering community colleges across the state. This online program requires 40 hours of clinical experience under the supervision of a BSN or higher-level nurse preceptor.
- RN-MSN Early Entry - The RN-MSN Early Entry pathway provides eligible first-year Hinds Community College and Northwest Mississippi Community College associate-degree nursing students with an opportunity to reserve a spot in the RN-MSN program during their first year of ADN coursework rather than after graduation.
